The Skills4cCities project finalized in January 2023!

The Skills4Cities project is finished. The consortium has finalized the project with all the project expected outputs developed.
Skills4Cities project supported the elaboration of a competence map, referent competence framework, recognition and validation of new curricula and training materials for staff, managers, and experts of smart cities at European level.
The project has identified and defined the learning paths for the newly emerging roles/professions of smart city experts, personnel and managers.
The project outputs have been validated with several focus groups to fulfil the expectations of the experts. Most relevant outputs have been:
Skills4Cities project supported the elaboration of a competence map, referent competence framework, recognition and validation of new curricula and training materials for staff, managers, and experts of smart cities at European level.

- Smart City Competencies Map
- Reference Competencies Framework
- Curriculum
- User Guide
These are the jobs related to the Intellectual Output 1 as part of the "Toolkit for Smart Cities competencies framework" that integrates for user-end components.
Validation
After the creation of the toolkit the development of the Intellectual Output 2 was performed which was related to the validation of the tool for the smart cities competences which include tow user-end components:
- Guidelines for validating competencies for a smart city administration
- Rules for certification of smart city roles
Results of the project
The outputs have supported the project to achieve the objectives pursued:
- A rise of awareness on the new roles of the cities' staff regarding the smart city-related challenges
- Increasing the efficiency of the cities as a result of improved competencies of their Human Resources
- A certified training based on the new competency framework and the training curricula and materials
